A story
Dispute gone awry

The story takes place in Seattle, Washington. In the downtown area, there are three major characters such as: Joe, David and Julie. The streets of any city can be a dangerous place for someone unaware of the surrounding circumstances.
Joe was just out for a Saturday evening drive down Main Street. A song came on the radio, so he turned the music up louder. There is this couple talking on the sidewalk. Dave and Julie seemed to be having a normal conversation. Joe decided to stop and purchase a soda from the store. He enters the store.
“How much is the soda in the cooler?” Joe said. “The soda will come to $1.50,” said the store clerk. Joe hands him $5 and walks away with the change.
“You went right home after work?” Asked Julie. “Yes, I most certainly did,” said Dave. “I don’t believe you,” said Julie. “I had to work late at the mill last night,” Dave said.
Joe was listening to the conversation between Dave and Julie. “If you want proof, my boss will verify that I was there,” said Dave.
“You have lied to me before,” she said. “Why should I believe you now?” Replied Julie. Joe was about to get back in his car when the situation got worse.
“I’ll teach you to talk back to me,” yelled Dave. Dave hit Julie in the face. He threw her down on the ground and hit Julie some more. Joe got involved and tried to help her. All of a sudden gang members showed up at the scene.
Joe was beaten and robbed. The gang members stole his car. He was left there bleeding on the sidewalk. Someone passed by and called for help. An ambulance came and took Joe to the hospital.
Joe survived the cruel beating, got his car back, and the gang members went to jail. From now on, Joe would be reluctant to help some people. Fortunately, this story had a good ending. Sometimes there are no survivors. Be careful how you perceive uncertain situations.
